Facility Management ensures various disciplines (technical and non-technical) are coordinated to efficiently support the organisation’s core activities. This shall include studying the overall business operational strategies, making necessary analysis and subsequent process improvement on the facilities in order to meet the end result – customer satisfaction.Hence, a Facility Manager shall understand not only the technical aspects of the asset,but also the organisation’s operational goals.While Asset Management applies its holistic planning on the preservation of an asset throughout its whole lifecycle (cradle to grave), Facility Management would focus more on the physical “well-being” of the asset in order to efficiently “facilitate” the core activities of an organisation.
