ANKARA, TUESDAY, 23rd FEBRUARY: Small and Medium Enterprises Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp. Malaysia) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Small and Medium Industry Organization (KOSGEB) here today. This will formalise and further strengthen the cooperation between the twoagencies and countries.
The MoU was executed by Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp. Malaysia, Dato’ Hafsah Hashim and President of KOSGEB, Mr. Mustafa Kaplan. The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Turkey. Also witnessing were Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia and Datuk Ir. Dr. Mohamed Al Amin Bin Abd Majid, Chairman of SME Corp. Malaysia.
“The MoU serves to establish networking opportunities for Malaysian and Turkish SMEs and to facilitate collaboration or experience exchange, such as in the fields of technology transfers, product quality improvements, supply chain linkages and technical assistance” said Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed.
“Our effort today is in line with the Government’s agenda to provide an important medium for Malaysian SMEs and other companies to help them identify new market opportunities, and forge linkages through business-matching sessions with potential foreign partners” he added.
SME Corp. Malaysia is hopeful that this initiative through today’s MoU would facilitate the transformation of the economy and private sector-led growth, including encouraging the growth potential of Malaysian SMEs. This is also in line with the New Economic Model (NEM) and the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
